I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to promote next month's boxing match.
Former two time world boxing king Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami venue on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I will injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.
"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."
Civil Exchange
Despite such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's largest money-making draws, regularly earning massive earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for 2026.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.
Size Difference
As both boxers engaged in the customary confrontation, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how improbable this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
